How This Works...

REGISTERING

Simply decide what course you would like to take

You can do this by clicking on the "Course Registration" link at the top left of our page. Then, select a State in which you are seeking course credit. A group of categories of classes we offer for that state will appear. Select the category which interests you and a list of subcategories will then be listed. Upon selection of a subcategory, a list of courses will then appear. Listed with the courses will be a course description, price, number of credit hours and supplemental material available for purchase with each course. Select the course(s) you would like to purchase by clicking the square box next to it and any suggested products to go along with it and add this to your cart. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the submit button.

Review your cart

After adding your selections to your shopping cart, review the products and make sure everything you selected is listed. If you are satisfied with your choices you may then proceed to checkout by clicking on the checkout button.

Agree to school policy

After clicking on the checkout button, a page with our school policy will be displayed. It is very important that every student read the entire school policy page before agreeing to it. After reading the entire document, simply check the box next to the statement saying that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions. The "I Agree" button will then highlight and be available to click. By clicking on this button you legally agree to the school policy of WebTaught.

Create an account or login if you are an existing student

The next page will ask you to login with your username or password if you have already taken a course with us. By default, a student's username is their full email address (i.e. someone@hotmail.com). The password is personally created by the user at the time of registration. If you have forgotten your password, you may request it by clicking on our "forgot your password" link found on that page and it will be emailed to you instantly.

If you are a new student and do not have an account, you will have the option to create one on that page. Simply click on the "Don't have an account? Click Here." link. This will take you to a fully secured page where you would then type in all of your account information. Once this form is filled out in its entirety, click on the signup button at the bottom of that page.

Review your order and enter method of payment

The next page displayed after logging in or creating a new account will allow you to see your personal information, products you are buying, and an area to enter your method of payment. Review your personal information and make sure everything is correct. It is extremely important that the name you enter matches your full legal name because this is how your name will appear on your course certificate. Then, review the products you are ordering. Once you have done that you are ready to enter in your method of payment on our fully secured 128-bit encrypted website. Once you are finished, you will then click on the purchase button ONLY ONCE to prevent multiple charges to your credit card.

Print your invoice

Once your order has successfully been processed, your invoice will be displayed. Print this for your records. We will also send you an email confirmation containing your invoice.

Once these steps have been completed you are ready to begin taking your course(s).

TAKING A COURSE

Logging in

Once you have purchased a course you are now ready to login. To login, simply visit our website at http://www.webtaught.com and type in your username and password in the login area located on the left-hand side of our website. Remember, your username is your full email address and your password was created by you when you registered. If you forget your password there is a "forgot your password" link right below the login area which you can click on and your password will be emailed to you instantly.

Your courses screen

After logging in you will be at the "your courses" screen. This page will list all of the courses you have ever taken with us, the date you registered for the course, the expiration date of the course, the amount of credit hours for the course, a progress bar that displays how much of the course you have already finished, the date you completed the course and your course certificate. You can continue taking a course you have already started or start a new course. All you have to do is click on the course title of the course you want to work on.

Course homepage

After clicking on the course you want to work on, you will be at your course homepage. The default page is your course welcome page. The course welcome page will have links to your course instructor, course instructions, course syllabus and any important announcements for that course.

At the top of this page will be links to your lessons page, resources, glossary, discussion board and links.

The lessons page is where you will find all of the lessons that you must pass in order to complete the course. When you start a course for the first time you will notice that only lesson 1 will be accessible. Once you finish lesson 1, then lesson 2 will become accessible. This is the way you progress through all of the course lessons.

The resources page is where any documents relating to the course can be found. This includes any documents found throughout the lessons.

The glossary page is simply a list of words found throughout the course with their definitions.

The discussion board is where students and instructors can communicate with each other by posting questions and answers. This is a valuable tool of communication.

Finally, the links page will have several links to external sites dealing with the topic of the course. These can serve as valuable tools of information if you want to go above and beyond the material found in the course text.

Course player

Once you click on the lessons page and select a lesson that you would like to work on, our course player will be displayed. All you have to do is read each lesson page by using our navigation buttons at the bottom of the page. Every few pages a quiz will be displayed. You must answer all of the quiz questions correctly before you can move on to the next page in the lesson. Once you successfully reach the end of the lesson, an end of lesson final will be displayed. The end of lesson final will vary from one lesson to another in the number of questions asked and the required passing score. Generally, the number of questions asked will range from 8 to 15 and the required passing score will range anywhere from 70% to 80%. Once you pass the end of lesson final you will be able to start the next lesson.

At the top right of the course player is a print page feature. Every page in our lessons is printable. Some students like to have a hard copy of the course material. This is optional but the feature is there if you want to utilize it.

Final exams

Most of our courses require a final examination. In most cases a 70% score is required to pass an examination. The passing score may vary depending on the course. If you take a final examination and do not pass, you will be locked out of taking the final examination for a predetermined amount of days. This could range anywhere from 1 to 7 days depending on the course. You may take a final examination as many times as needed to receive a passing score as long as your course has not yet expired.

Course evaluation

Upon completion of your final examination, you must complete a course evaluation. In order to receive your course certificate for a course, you are required to fill out our course evaluation form in its entirety. The results of these evaluations are used to improve our courses.

Course certificate

After submission of the course evaluation, your course certificate will be accessible. Your course certificate will be displayed on the "Your Courses" screen. The "Your Courses" screen is the first page you see after logging into WebTaught. Click on the icon next to where it says "Your Certificate" and a new window will open displaying your course certificate. At the top of your certificate, there is a link that allows you to print it. Congratulations! It is just that easy.
